The Carbon Market Institute Ltd (CMI) has achieved carbon neutral certification for its 4th Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit held in May 2017. This is the second year the Summit has been certified as a carbon neutral event under the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS).
As part of its emission reduction strategy, CMI will use recycled printing materials and electronic ticketing systems to reduce emissions from paper. Accommodation was chosen in walking or a short travelling distance to the venue to minimise emissions from transport. NCOS certified carbon neutral fish and wine is being served during the event to reduce emissions from food consumption. Remaining emissions are offset by investing in forest protection in Zimbabwe and native forest regeneration in southwest Queensland.
