As an outcome of the review, the Government committed to work with business to improve the operation of the Safeguard Mechanism.

The Government released a consultation paper outlining an approach to make the Safeguard Mechanism fairer and simpler and bring the Safeguard Mechanism baselines up-to-date with current circumstances.
