The Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2019 (IPE 19) Joint Task Force has departed Singapore for Jakarta, Indonesia, concluding its involvement in the International Maritime Defence Expo & Conference (IMDEX Asia).

Commander IPE 19 Joint Task Force, Air Commodore Rick Owen said IPE played a crucial role in developing regional relationships.

“IPE 19 has provided an important opportunity to work and train with regional partners such as Singapore, share knowledge and strengthen our people-to-people relationships, so together we can build a more secure, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific region,” Air Commodore Owen said.

“IMDEX Asia provided the IPE 19 Joint Task Force with the opportunity to discuss the value of these partnerships to a stable region with a wide and influential audience.

“Our visit this week was about working closely with Singapore and other partners to progress our defence relationship, so that we’re a stronger, more capable and interoperable force when it comes to enhancing the security of both countries and the broader region.”

During the visit, members of the IPE 19 Joint Task Force participated in a range of activities, including IMDEX Asia exhibitions and conferences, as well as key bilateral training opportunities with Singaporean partners.

The IPE 19 Joint Task Group is comprised of more than 1,000 personnel from Navy, Army and Air Force. Singapore was the second last port visit of IPE 19 after visits to Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
